Uno was born into a group of cats called the Collaboration who made their kits compete to stay a member of the group. They would remain unnamed until accepted as a full member of the Collaboration where they would have a ceremony at moonlight to announce the exile of the weakest kits.
Uno, being small and timid, gave up on trying to win the favor of the Collaboration leaders at a young age, preferring to be like his father who had left the group to travel the world but hadn't been heard from since Uno's birth. Uno would rather explore different crevices and learn more about things he didn't know about rather than compete against his brother for a place among the Collaboration. His brother, on the other hand, tried his absolute hardest to win the favor of the leaders, going as far as to bully and shun Uno especially when the younger members of the group were around. Uno's brother made quick friends while Uno was left out so that he would eventually get kicked out of the Collaboration. Uno was okay with this, however, he saw it as the way things are, and eventually he would be cast out of the group and his brother would be the winner. That was how things were supposed to be, Uno wanted to be an adventurer anyway, exploring the world and hopefully one day finding his father or whatever was left of his father. This lead to Uno lacking social skills and confidence as time went on. At 4 months old he slipped out of the group's camp to explore the world outside, where he met an elderly dragon living in some ruins above the cave where his group lived. Finding the young cat amusing, the dragon chose to tell him stories about the lands outside of the Collaboration. Uno was fascinated and every day would sneak out and visit his new dragon friend who became a mentor to the young lonely kit. The dragon revealed himself to be called Rirsyr. Upon discovering that his small cat friend had no name he decided to call him Uno, for being the one cat to provide him company in those times. Rirsyr revealed that his days were numbered and he had come to the territory to have a peaceful death, alone. But it changed when Uno came to listen to the old dragon's stories. All of that was about to change though. One day, Uno was approached by the leaders of the Collaboration, today was the day he was to spar against his brother. It was time to prove their worth to the group. All eyes were on Uno and his brother as they stood in the clearing outside of the cave. Looking on in the distance was Rirsyr, who knew about the cat's traditions and watched Uno intently. Uno's brother launched himself forward with a dark glint in his eye and claws raised. Uno was quickly knocked to the ground, his cheek bled from the blow. Uno's brother fought to kill, and the others watched with confused whispers spreading among some of the cats. The match wasn't supposed to be to the death but no one stepped up to stop it as Uno was repeatedly bashed around. Rirsyr was enraged with the one sided fight but struggled to move as his body grew weaker and weaker. He was dying. Uno in a final attempt to save his life, managed to push his brother off of him and broke into a sprint away from the clearing. He didn't care if he lost, he was supposed to. He just had to live. He climbed the rocky cliff up to where Rirsyr was lying, breathing heavily. Uno glanced behind him to see his brother pursuing him, yowling with rage as he slipped here and there. Uno was terrified. His only friend lay dying in front of him and his own death was approaching fast behind him. Uno whirled around to face his brother. He would die fighting for Rirsyr. But his brother stopped, his expression changed from angry to fearful as Rirsyr forced his body to move and stand over Uno protectively, before saying his final words to Uno and collapsing. Uno and his brother moved out of the way of the falling dragon and as Rirsyr fell, the rest of the Collaboration and it's leaders reached the top to see the commotion. Uno was standing over Rirsyr in grief. The group looked on shocked.

She was a stranger in a very strange land. Yet, she had asked to follow me. Well...more like begged me to take her with me on my next adventure. What a strange cat this Princess is. I was hesitant to take a normal cat with me though. I had never traveled with another cat so I wasn't sure if it'd work. Not to mention my next stop was a universe of Space Cats. This place she called Evergrim was stranger than any others I had seen and the group of cats she was with, even stranger. Not to mention she's nearly 4 times the size of me. It was like a lion cub looking up at the lion. Scary, yet she seemed super nice. Not lion-like at all, unless you counted her fluffy front end compared to her peach-fuzz almost hairless rear. "Please, please, pleeeeease take me with you!" Princess begged as I tilted my head in confusion. "W-why would you want to leave your friends so much?" I asked looking at the small group in front of me. "You don't understand, you're FINALLY the first cat who doesn't live here to visit us. Please HELP ME!! Everyone here is so...so..DUMB!" She got down to my height and stared on with wide puppy-dog like eyes. I sighed and turned away. As lonely as I was, was it right of me to disrupt the home of Evergrim? I mean, it wouldn't hurt if I returned Princess eventually. Right? "I don't know, Princess. I'm heading to space next." I motioned toward the darkening sky that was starting to gain a few dots of stars. "Normally I would agree wholeheartedly." I lied, I probably would act this way no matter where I planned to stop. I wasn't sure of how I traveled to different universes let alone take another with me. "So?" The large cat said plainly. "Can I come with you to space? Pleeeease?" I sat back on my haunches for a second and used my small paws to rub my temple. I could always stay here a day or two to practice and learn how to travel with other cats. It could be a usefull skill in the future, especially if I were to bring some back to Summer Home. "Oh..Alright!" I said being drowned immedietly in Princess's loud yays and dancing around. "BUT-" "Aww, but what?" She asked stopping to pout for a second. "We stay here for a couple of days to prepare for the trip, and you must come home right after." Princess looked at me with wide happy eyes that shone brightly. "Can Pierce come?" "No. One of you might be hard enough to keep track of." I said plainly sitting to groom my fur. "Despite your size..." I muttered to myself through tongue-fulls of fur. She looked as if she was about to protest but stopped herself and just smiled. "Oh thank you, Uno! Thank you! Thank you!" She thanked me over and over until I had to stop her. "Ahh, no problem! Just don't mention it. Maybe if I come back again we can bring your friend." Princess was already zooming off to tell Pierce before I ever finished speaking. I let out a small laugh. It was refreshing to have other cats around me again. 551/300 words - 250 exp (word minimum) + 125 exp (for going 251 words over limit) = 375 exp
